	Dr. Joseph Dunbar Associate Vice President for Research and Chief Scientific Advisor to the Dean of the School of Medicine (313) 577-5600 jdunbar@med.wayne.edu Responsible for research administration including the establishment and implementation of research policies and procedures, facilitation and stimulation of research productivity, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
	Dr. Gloria Heppner Associate Vice President for Research (313) 577-5600 Heppnerg@wayne.edu Responsible for developing and implementing new research at WSU, and developing and enhancing collaborative and interdisciplinary research programs. Also, securing new research funding. Oversees centers and institutes that report to the Office of the Vice President for Research and administer their annual reviews. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President for Research.
	Mr. James Barbret Associate Vice President for SPA and Assistant Vice President for Finance (313) 993-4385 james.d.barbret@wayne.edu Oversee and manage Sponsored Programs Administration and Grant Accounting functions for the University. Serve as the lead administrator for sponsored grants and contracts within the University. Oversee the Information Technology Office within the Research Division. Other duties and responsiblities as assigned by the Vice President for Research.
	Ms. Judy Johncox Interim Associate Vice President for Research and Technology Commercialization (313) 577-5541 judy.johncox@wayne.edu Responsible for invention management, licensing WSU intellectual property to industry and advising faculty and staff on all aspects of technology transfer and patents. Primary point of contact for any company seeking to license WSU technology.
	Dr. Dorothy Nelson Associate Vice President for Research (313) 577-9064 dnelson@wayne.edu Oversee the development and presentation of University-wide workshops related to research compliance. Provide leadership and management to selected units within the Division. Supervise and manage the Human Investigation Committee and the Animal Investigation Committee. Oversee the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. Assist individuals and units in their awareness of research responsibilities and risks. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President for Research.
	Ms. Nancy Christ Director for Research Collaborations (313) 577-0551 nchrist@med.wayne.edu Responsible for developing and supporting new interdisciplinary research collaborations at WSU, and research collaborations between WSU and the community.
	Dr. Freda Giblin Director of Inter-Institutional Initiatives (313) 577-3448 fgiblin@med.wayne.edu Develops program plans and implements operating plans, with the goal of enhancing current or developing new university research initiatives. Participates in developing research and training grants. Assesses and supports research building projects and undertakes other projects assigned by the Vice President for Research.
	Ms. Shay Izzard Senior Executive Assistant (313) 577-4442 ski@wayne.edu Provide administrative support and assistance to the Vice President and Associate Vice President of OVPR. Manage special projects under the direction of Vice President. Compose and prepare routine correspondence, assist in the preparation of various reports, schedule appointments/meetings.
	Ms. Sarah James Research Support Liaison (313) 577-8997 sjames@wayne.edu Design, implement, oversee, promote, and evaluate faculty development efforts and programs in the Office of the Vice President for Research. This broadly includes internal funding programs; workshops, training, and seminars; most limited grant submissions; and research resources for faculty, such as, but not limited to, Proquest COS. In an effort to coordinate and enhance faculty research development and increase awareness of funding opportunities and support in the area of research across the university, this position serves as liaison to WSU's Development Office, Technology Resource Center, University Librarians, and others on an assigned basis. Develop technology support for faculty development programs. Manage University Research Center reviews and creation and the University center web site and database.
	Ms. Julie O'Connor Director, Research Communications (313) 577-8845 julie.oconnor@wayne.edu Serves as Director of Research Communications in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Directs the public relations efforts of WSU's research enterprise which includes press releases and other promotional activities of WSU research. Directs the marketing efforts of the Office of the Vice President for Research which includes website management, material development and research magazine development. Participates on the University Research Corridor communications team. Directs internal research communications. Direct and assist with strategic planning processes of the Division of Research and university-wide initiatives. Work with the Office of Federal Affairs to provide critical research information to aid in legislative affairs.
	Ms. Amy Oprean Information Officer (313) 577-5600 oprean@wayne.edu Plan, develop, write and edit a variety of news and feature stories, press releases, publications and general informational pieces to enhance and promote the University's image in the area of research.
	Mr. Antonio Earl Yancey Director, Business Operations (313) 577-1927 antonioyancey@wayne.edu Oversee the financial and personnel operations for the Division; plan and oversee budget development, annual budget loads, budget projections and reconciliations; plan and oversee personnel appointments, personnel changes, performance evaluations, and salary administration. Oversee internal research funding commitments and faculty start-up funding.
	Ms. Jo Ann Yucha Executive Assistant (313) 577-5600 joann.yucha@wayne.edu Provide administrative support to the Vice President, Associate Vice President and Manager of Research Operations and Communications in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Coordinate activities for the Nano@Wayne Seminar Series, Faculty Research Advisory Committee, Grants Management Focus Group and a variety of other groups. Maintain research data for annual reports and other reports. Assist with a variety of special projects, particularly related to the university's research communication efforts.
