Getting Started
Recent initiatives by federal funding agencies, national professional organizations, and universities around the country affirm that interdisciplinarity is a growing priority in the academy. Both the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Research are committed to enhancing interdisciplinary activities across Wayne State’s campus. To support that initiative, they have sponsored development of this website.
The website is a tool to support all forms of knowledge production and learning on campus. The initial phase of development emphasizes research. In the future, the site will expand to include other aspects of interdisciplinary education and training.
The Research portion of the website is aimed at facilitating the search for funding, making connections with faculty who have shared interests, and forming and enhancing collaborative groups. It also features news reports on interdisciplinary activities on campus and insightful publications.
The Education portion of the website is under development.
