Area of Interest
Targeted drug delivery using dendritic and hyperbranched nanopolymers: in vitro and in vivo applications of NSAID-nanopolymer conjugates for inflammation and pain; streptokinase-nanopolymer conjugates for thrombolysis and minocycline-polymer conjugates for perinatal brain injury. Dynamics and mechanisms of cellular entry of drug-nanopolymer conjugates.
Resources
Lab space in Elliman; UV-Vis Spectophotometer; HPLC with UV and refractive index detectors; Cell culture hoods and incubators; fluorescent and light microsopes; ELISA reader; Electrophoresis equipment for SDS PAGE, Westerns etc.
Collaboration Interests:
Modification of nanopolymers for biologic applications, drug conjugation chemistry and characterization. Collaborative nano-research is probably easier in the local environment but it may also be possible to collaborate with researchers who are distant.
