Respiratory Protection

This program describes procedures for proper selection and use of respirators by Wayne State University employees. Respirator use should be required only where the control of respiratory hazards is not feasible, while engineering controls are being installed, and in emergencies.

Each element of this program shall be performed in accordance with MIOSHA Part 451, Respiratory Protection Standard. At Wayne State University, the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) - Associate Director, Compliance Program is the Respiratory Protection Program Administrator.
