Catherine Lysack

Cathy Lysack is the Deputy Director of the Institute of Gerontology (IOG) and a Professor in the Department of Health Care Sciences (Occupational Therapy) at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Lysack is an occupational therapist by clinical training and received her PhD in Community Health Sciences from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. She joined the University as an Assistant Professor in 1997. Her work has included persons with spinal cord injury, hip fracture, cognitive impairment, and “community-dwelling elderly”. Her overall research goal is to gain a better understanding of the rehabilitation process that supports physical and emotional recovery and the strategies individuals use to return to active meaningful lives in the community after discharge
