Dr. Bocknek is an assistant professor of Early Childhood Education at Wayne State University's College of Education. She is a faculty member in Wayne State University's Infant Mental Health Dual Title Program and an affiliate faculty member at the Merrill-Palmer Skillman Institute. In addition, Dr. Bocknek is an adjunct research investigator at the University of Michigan Health System's Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Bocknek is interested in studying socioemotional development, specifically the development of emotion regulation competencies, of infants and toddlers as it relates to parenting and family processes in at-risk groups and the ways in which these competencies may be resilience promoting strategies for young children who have risk factors for developing psychopathology.
