WSU Faculty Invited to Attend “Developing an International Collaboration for Public Health Research” Event

The Office of the Vice President for Research at Wayne State University, together with the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Windsor, invites WSU faculty to attend, “Developing an International Collaboration for Public Health Research,” a full day of joint meetings between WSU-UW designed to develop and promote international research in the field of Public Health.

Representing countries with different health care delivery philosophies, this Wayne State University-University of Windsor collaboration will create opportunities for cross-cultural training and comparative research into one of the most important problems of our time: assuring the health and safety of our populations in the face of decreasing resources and increasing threat.

“Developing an International Collaboration for Public Health Research” will be held in the Ballroom at the Student Center Building on the campus of Wayne State University on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The registration deadline is September 23, 2005. There is no registration fee and lunch will be provided.

Throughout the day, discussion groups will focus on various themes including: Environmental Health and Safety; Mapping Community Health; Comparative Health Delivery Systems; Mental Health/Clinical Psychology; Substance Abuse/Addiction; Workplace Safety; Health Disparities and Socioeconomic Status; and Emerging Technologies. For exact times for each discussion group and the registration form, please click on http://www.research.wayne.edu .
