OVPR to Host Grant Writing Seminar for Junior Faculty

The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to host a grant writing seminar for Wayne State University’s junior full-time faculty, senior graduate students, postdoctoral research fellows, residents and grant administrators. The seminar will be entitled, “Getting Started as a Successful Grant Writer and Academician.”

The OVPR is sponsoring the cost to bring Dr. Stephen W. Russell, co-founder of Grant Writers = Seminars and Workshops, LLC, to campus. Colleges, schools and institutes have agreed to cover additional costs including materials and food for each of the attendees.

When: Wednesday, April 5, 2006
Registration: 8:00 a.m.
Seminar begins: 8:45 a.m.
Seminar ends: 4:00 p.m.

Location: McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 West Ferry Mall, WSU – Main Campus

Seminar Information: This seminar will address both conceptual and practical aspects that are associated with the research grant writing process. It will emphasize idea development, how to write for reviewers, and tips and strategies that have kept Dr. Russell funded continuously for over 25 years.
