Wayne State Researchers Discover a Way to Restore Visual Responses in Blind Mice

Monday, April 17th, 2006

Wayne State University researchers and colleagues, led by Zhuo-Hua Pan, Ph.D., associate professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology in the School of Medicine, reports a new way to restore visual responses in blind mice. This National Eye Institute of the NIH supported research is published in today’s issue of Neuron, a highly regarded journal which publishes reports of novel results in any area of the neurosciences.

Wayne State Researcher Discovers Potential Approach to Hyperoxygenate Blood

J. Richard Spears, M.D. professor of Internal Medicine at WSU’s School of Medicine, has developed a technique being used in randomized clinical trials to hyperoxygenate blood for improving results of angioplasty and stenting of blocked coronary arteries in patients with myocardial infarction.

Clarification on the IRB Amendment Submission Process

As a general rule, if there are any changes or updates in any information previously provided to the IRB, this information would need approved by the IRB before any changes can be implanted. The Medical/Behavioral Protocol Amendment Form is designed to allow the principal investigator to provide these specific details.
