This National Eye Institute of the NIH supported research is published in today’s issue of Neuron, a highly regarded journal which publishes reports of novel results in any area of the neurosciences.

J. Richard Spears, M.D. professor of Internal Medicine at WSU’s School of Medicine, has developed a technique being used in randomized clinical trials to hyperoxygenate blood for improving results of angioplasty and stenting of blocked coronary arteries in patients with myocardial infarction.
