OVPR Sponsors Needs-Based and Hypothesis Driven Grants Writing Seminars
The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to host two grant writing seminars to be held simultaneously for WSU faculty, post-docs, and space permitting, advanced doctoral students.
The OVPR is sponsoring a major portion of the cost to bring Drs. Stephen W. Russell and David Morrison, co-founders and managing partners of Grant Writers = Seminars and Workshops, LLC, to campus. The fee for seminar materials is $75 and may be paid for by check or through a department index account transfer (see registration form for further details.)
Both workshops will take place on August 10, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
One of the seminars will be aimed at hypothesis-driven research (medical biological and physical sciences and engineering). The location for this seminar will be the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Building, Commons Auditorium located in the lower level of the building. Light morning refreshments will be served outside of the auditorium (refreshments are not allowed in the auditorium), and a lunch will be served in the Commons lounge area.
The other seminar will be focused at needs-based applications (liberal arts, social & behavioral sciences). It will take place at the McGregor Conference Center on WSU’s main campus. Light morning refreshments and a lunch will be served.
This seminar is a requirement for any faculty interested in participating in our intensive Grant Writing Workshop led by Dr. Russell. Information about the advanced workshop will be given to WSU faculty at the August 10 seminar, and the workshop will begin in October, with an anticipated proposal submission date of February 1, 2007.
Registration is limited! For a registration form and more information, please visit: http://www.research.wayne.edu/events/Grant_Writing_Seminar_August_2006.pdf
