Join Colleagues Campus-Wide for the November Faculty Commons!

You are invited to join other medical and social researchers from across campus at the November Faculty Commons meeting, to be held on November 14, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The focus for November’s Faculty Commons will be on Social Neuroscience.

The rapidly growing field of Social Neuroscience focuses on the neurobiological bases of social behavior, including developmental, cognitive and affective components both at the basic and translational levels of analysis. Discussion will focus on research funding opportunities and the NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience, which focuses on neurodegeneration in FY 2007, neurodevelopment in FY 2008, and plasticity in FY 2009.

Faculty Commons will meet in conference room 6201 on the sixth floor in the Maccabees Building (the old Schools Center Building) on Woodward Avenue just north of Warren. Attendees will be offered a tour of the laboratory of Dr. Ava Senkfor, whose current work is focused on social neuroscience. Refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP by email if you plan to attend, to nchrist@med.wayne.edu.
