WSU Units to Host Neuroscience Day

On February 2, 2007, the College of Liberal Arts and Science, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and the Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychology, are hosting the second annual Neuroscience Day at Wayne State University.

This day-long event will comprise of a presentation by a keynote speaker, short presentations by WSU neuroscience faculty, graduate student talks and posters, and a free luncheon and refreshments.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Thomas Carew, professor of Neurobiology and Behavior in the School of Biological Sciences and the Donald Bren Professor and Chair in the Center for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Carew’s research focuses on the cellular, molecular and network mechanisms of short- and long-term memory formation in the Aplysia model system.

Faculty and students interested in attending this free event are asked to save the date on their calendars. Seminar registration information and graduate student entry forms will be emailed to all faculty in early December. We encourage faculty to share this and future information with interested students.

We hope all interested faculty and students will attend these important (and free!) events.
