IFSA Foundation
Scope: The IFSA Foundation was founded to support international education by assisting undergraduate students from U.S. colleges and universities. Emphasis is placed on programs that provide for semester and yearlong undergraduate study abroad by U.S. institutions such as scholarships, particularly to underrepresented groups; start-up support for underdeveloped geographic or disciplinary areas; and innovative projects. The foundation also encourages proposals from recognized universities abroad for projects that benefit U.S. undergraduate study abroad, students or programs. Current interests include close academic and cultural integration, and programs that revise/strengthen standards, or develop research tools.
Deadline: March 15 and October 1.
Funds: Grants range from $10,000 to $50,000.
Eligibility: Any U.S. college and university, and governmental organization and other nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the goal of furthering the international study abroad of undergraduate students.

State Farm Companies Foundation
Eligibility: Communities across the country in State Farm’s operating regions.
Funding: $20.4 million.
Priorities: Two giving vehicles offer funds:
• Foundation Grants—mainly education efforts for K-12 public schools, service learning, systemic improvement and teacher excellence, and
• Company Grants—Safe Neighbors (driver safety; protection from fires, criminals or natural disasters; emergency preparedness; and personal financial security), Strong Neighborhoods (housing or community development); and K-12 Public Schools (teacher training, curriculum improvement and overall systemic enrichment).Comments: This insurer doesn’t give to religious or political activities, or offer scholarship support.
Deadlines: None. Grant requests for local initiatives are considered by field offices.
