Neuroscience Seminar Registration Begins
On February 2, 2007, the College of Liberal Arts and Science, the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychology, are hosting the second annual Neuroscience Day at Wayne State University. This day-long event at McGregor Conference Center will comprise of a keynote speaker, presentations by WSU neuroscience faculty, graduate student talks and posters, and a free luncheon and refreshments. We ask all faculty and departments with graduate students who might be interested in this event to please share this email with them ASAP.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Thomas Carew, professor of Neurobiology and Behavior in the School of Biological Sciences and the Donald Bren Professor and Chair in the Center for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Carew’s research focuses on the cellular, molecular and network mechanisms of short- and long-term memory formation in the Aplysia model system.
Registration is now open and available online at http://research.wayne.edu/neuro/. (Please copy and paste this link into your browser if it doesn’t work directly from this email.) Faculty members interested in presenting a ten minute overview of their research are asked to check the relevant box on the registration form and register by January 15, 2007. Students who would like to give an oral presentation or poster should register and fill out Section 2 of the registration form by January 15, 2007. The registration deadline for anyone who wants to attend the event is January 26, 2007.
