ELIGIBILITY: No geographic restrictions.
FUNDING: Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000; typical size is $5,000.
PRIORITIES: Giving areas include health, education, environment, human services
and other causes. Its interests are fairly diverse and may lead into other areas.COMMENTS: Created in 2000 with proceeds from the sale of Trillium Digital Systems to Intel Corp., this funder just switched to an online-only application process. It’s also interested in making more operating and multi-year grants. But it rejects requests for computers or software, audio or video equipment, musical or gardening programs, physical education, theater or performing arts, hospice or old-age homes, religious or political activities, voter registration, and dinners or other ticketed events.
NEW DEADLINES: March 1 and September 1 for funding by June and December.
