The Office of the Vice President for Research Bridge Funding Program is available three times per year, and the next round of applications are due on the extended deadline of Friday, March 23, by 5:00 p.m. This program is designed for WSU faculty (Assistant, Associate and Full Professors) who have an ongoing, competitive extramural grant (NSF, NIH, DOD, ACS, etc.) but whose funding has been interrupted by an unsuccessful competitive renewal.

Changes in NIH’s scoring procedures during this climate of decreased federal research funds has prompted the Office of the Vice President for Research to reevaluate the eligibility criteria for its Bridge Funding Program. Effective immediately, it is not required that the proposal in question have received a priority score. The Summary Statement is still required and must be included in the Bridge Funding application. All other eligibility requirements remain the same.
