HIC Implements Website Improvements

Expect big changes on the Human Investigation Committee (HIC) Website.
The Office of the Vice President for Research has applied for accreditation with the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP), the premier accrediting agency for human participant research. The AAHRPP site visit is scheduled for April 25-27.

In preparation for the site visit, the HIC staff and the Research Compliance Office conducted a year long self assessment that resulted in the revision of many existing HIC policies and procedures and the development of several more. The improvements that resulted from the self assessment have been collected in a new Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Manual that can be accessed from the HIC website. The website has been reorganized to reflect this change and some of the information previously found there has been included in the on-line manual. The manual is organized to assist researchers, Institutional Review Board members and research participants in easily finding the information that they need. This is facilitated by the inclusion of a table of contents.

Please take a look http://www.hic.wayne.edu/ and contact the Human Investigation Committee Office if you have any comments or suggestions (313-577-1628).
