American Medical Association Foundation Seed Grant Research Program
The American Medical Association Foundation (http://amafoundation.org) established the Seed Grant Research Program to encourage medical students, physician residents and fellows to enter the research field. The program provides seed grants to help recipients conduct small basic science, applied, or clinical research projects. The funds are designed to round out new project budgets, rather than sustain current initiatives.
Grants of $2500 each will be awarded in the following categories: Cardiovascular/Pulmonary Diseases; HIV/AIDS; Leukemia; Neoplastic Diseases; and Secondhand Smoke.
Seed grant funds cannot be used for salary or stipend, indirect/administrative costs, to hire a consultant or contractor, or solely for travel expenses. Applicants must be medical students, physician residents or fellows at an accredited U.S. medical school or institution. They must be either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Visit the AMA Foundation website for complete program information and application guidelines.
Deadline: December 3, 2007
