IOG and U of M receive $3.3 million NIH award
The National Institute on Aging has awarded a $3.3 million grant to fund joint research and edcuation projects at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research and Wayne State University’s Institute of Gerontology.
The two institutes will work on research looking at ways to improve the health of older African Americans living in cities. The grant will also provide funds for the Healthier Black Elders Center housed at WSU.
The Center organizes a series of yearly community health forums and an annual health reception. It recruits older adults from the community as participants in research projects.
Congratulations to our URC partners!
