LIMITED SUBMISSION Grant Opportunity - Childhood Cancer Research
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization raising funds for childhood cancer research. The Foundation has a research grant opportunity with limited submissions for personnel support.
These grants are intended for institutions with the potential to participate significantly more in childhood cancer clinical trials, but which are smaller or have barriers to greater participation due to a lack of resources. Preference will be given to institutions that serve populations which might have limited access to participation in clinical trials without access to appropriately resourced institutions. CRA support for approved Phase I or II studies would be a high priority, or start up funding for approved reference laboratories that support novel clinical trials.
Infrastructure grants are designed to provide a one-time infusion of funds to enable an institution to acquire the personnel (i.e., a clinical research associate) or resources it needs to reach its potential in broader clinical trial participation. The applicant should indicate how ongoing personnel costs wil be born in future years.
Grants are normally in the range of $25,000 to $50,000; exceptions may be made for proposals with budgets documenting a need for more.
Grants are due August 15, 2008. This is a limited submssion grant opportunity, and only one grant per institution can be submitted. To be considered, please submit a one page summary of the proposal and the PI’s abbreviated CV to Julie O’Connor at ag2712@wayne.edu by June 23, 2008. The faculty selected to submit a proposal will be notified by June 30, 2008.
