Calling all Wayne State Students! Detroit Heart Walk Needs You!

The 2017 Detroit Heart Walk needs your help!

As you may have heard, the American Heart Association Detroit Heart Walk will take place on Wayne State University’s campus for the next three years! The 2017 Detroit Heart Walk will take place on May 20, 2017. We would love to have many students participating by running, walking and helping out!

There are several ways that you can help!

  1. Start or join a team! CLICK HERE to be taken to our Wayne Cares site and then click on the red “Register Now” button.  You will be taken to our WSU page on the Heart Walk website and you can start your team or join an already registered team!
  2. Create a video telling the story of why you are participating! Create a 15 second video that we can share and use to promote the Heart Walk! Click HERE to see how to create and send your video to us!
  3. Share your heart health story! We are looking for stories to share from Wayne State students who have had or currently have heart issues. If you have a story to tell, please send your contact information to Julie O’Connor, director of research communications at ag2712@wayne.edu.
  4. Be a Social Volunteer at the Heart Walk!  We are looking for students to help us with a variety of volunteer opportunities, particularly helping us spread #heartwalking news before and during the walk.  If you are interested in volunteering, email your contact information to research@wayne.edu.

Stop by the Healthy for Good Day at WSU on April 19 at Fountain Court in Gullen Mall. Learn about CPR and Heart Health! Join the American Heart Association on Wednesday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Student Center to learn how to do CPR and how to have a healthier heart! Look for the American Heart Association tents!

We hope that you are able to join us for the 2017 Detroit Heart Walk!
