Carol Miller discusses water energy nexus

Carol Miller, Ph.D., professor of civil and environmental engineering at Wayne State University, discusses how the energy used to treat our drinking water produces emissions that has the potential to contaminate drinking water sources as it travels through the water treatment system and through the pipes to homes. She and a team of researchers have come up with technologies that aims to reduce emissions by analyzing data to make important suggestions to water utilities that help decide what changes in their operations or processes in a facility are needed.
