Important update on federal grant submissions

As the government shutdown enters its second week, please be reminded that the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health have recommended that proposals not be submitted until the government reopens.  Both agencies have indicated that they will adjust any proposal deadline dates as necessary.  Sponsored Program Administration (SPA) recommends that faculty heed the advice of the agencies and hold off on proposal submission. If a faculty member is insistent on submitting, SPA will do so, but it is at the faculty member's own risk.  In the meantime, proposals may continue to be submitted to SPA for review and eventual submission upon the reopening of the government.  SPA will continue to keep the university apprised of any updates to this information.

The Society for Research Administrators has launched a shutdown resource center on their website, which contains a great deal of useful information.  The link to this page is http://www.srainternational.org/sra03/template/tntbAB.cfm?id=6008
