Office for Technology Transfer and Commercialization

The Office for Technology Transfer and Commercialization (OTTC) team seek to advance innovative business and technology practices originating from Wayne State University research toward real-world impact while also creating meaningful engagements with industrial, corporate and nonprofit collaborators. OTTC is responsible for the identification, protection, marketing and licensing of intellectual property developed by WSU faculty and staff, as well as corporate research alliances.

The team manages all aspects of the technology transfer process including the encouragement, assessment, intellectual property protection, licensing, business evaluation/planning mentorship of inventions; the post-licensing oversight of agreement compliance; distribution of royalties and fees; and record keeping for all aspects of WSU intellectual property technology transfer.

We strive to collaborate campus-wide to enhance student entrepreneurship and innovation offerings at WSU.
