In 2015, the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) announced changes to the set of federal regulations that protect the rights and welfare of human research participants known as the common rule.  The changes were previously delayed, however the general compliance and effective date is officially January 21, 2019.  The WSU Institutional Review Board  (IRB) Administration Office, has been preparing for implementation of the Revised Common Rule (RCR) since 2017.  To learn more about the Revised Common Rule (RCR), the transition plan to the RCR, RCR training sessions, and how the RCR impacts human participant research submissions, please visit, the IRB's Common Rule Changes website: http://research.wayne.edu/irb/common_rule_changes.php .
