EPA Announces UPLIFT Climate and Environmental Community Action Grant Opportunity

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the UPLIFT Climate and Environmental Community Action Grant, a collaborative grant between Institutions of Higher Education and community-based organizations to promote environmental justice. This award will build capacity of communities/governments to evaluate climate injustice; give voice to communities; and support community-driven projects in disadvantaged communities to address climate challenges and reduce pollution. This grant will provide $2.5 million for one applicant for three years. An application webinar will be held January 9, 2025 and applications are due February 25, 2025. It is important to note that this grant is funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, and funds may be rescinded in January or shortly after. Guaranteed funds are provided by the recently announced Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program and researchers interested in environmental justice are highly encouraged to apply.
