Revised Recordkeeping Guideline

As a reminder, the IACUC updated the guideline on Recordkeeping.

This guideline reminds investigators and research staff of the medical/procedural recordkeeping that must be kept for animals. Of particular importance are surgical and post-operative records, tumor monitoring records, and food and/or fluid restriction records (for animals on where food and/or water is restricted for at least one week or more).

Records must be immediately available upon request by the IACUC or veterinary staff, and it is strongly recommended that the records be kept in immediate proximity to the animals (e.g., in the animal housing room). The revised guideline and all IACUC policies and guidelines can be found on the IACUC website here or by contacting the IACUC Office (IACUC@wayne.edu). The IACUC office also has sample record templates to record information such as body weight, tumor monitoring, etc.
