Internal funding opportunities
To support and encourage research endeavors at the university, the Office of the Vice President for Research offers a variety of internal research funding opportunities for which faculty are eligible to compete. External funding opportunities
WSU subcribes to Pivot, a searchable database that contains external funding opportunities from many government and private sources, accessible to WSU students, faculty, and staff. It is the largest, most comprehensive database available of external funding opportunities. Users can build profiles, save searches, track opportunities, and set up funding alerts. If you have questions on this research tools or would like to schedule a workshop for your unit, class or college, please email rifs@wayne.edu.

Limited submissions
Some external grant opportunities for faculty researchers have limits on institutional submissions. In those cases, internal competitions are organized by the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR). Limited submission funding opportunities and details on how to apply internally are listed on the Division of Research's Limited Submissions website.
