Accessing CITI Export Control Modules
Wayne State University now offers basic on-line courses in Export Controls through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). The web-based courses are user friendly and designed to provide a clear understanding of export control laws and regulations. It is highly recommended for all WSU faculty, academic officers, employees, students, and administrators.
Log on at http://www.citiprogram.org/ to begin your training. If you are a new user to the CITI Program, simply register to set up a new account. There are multiple categories that pertain to research; choose the CITI Export Controls Course to access the (4) four CITI modules; General Overview, ITAR, EAR and OFAC. Multiple sign-ins are allowed, so you can complete the training at your convenience. CITI will keep track of your place each time you log out of the system.
Once you finish the modules, you will need to print a copy of the completion certificate for your files. CITI refresher modules for Export Controls vary depending on your activity. You will receive a â€œreminderâ€ email notice from CITI approximately three months prior to your renewal date.
